Update of October 1, 2026: since September 29, 2026 at 12:01 a.m. (ET), the 50% Section 338 tariff on Canadian dairy products, alcohol and certain motorcycles (notably BRP's Can-Am Spyder and Canyon) has been replaced by a total import ban in the United States. The ban does not cover all motor vehicles, only these motorcycles. All other Section 338 products (cement, hockey equipment, swimming pools, furniture, fishing rods, seeds, clothing, wigs, holiday decorations and plastic products, other motor vehicles) remain subject to the 50% tariff. Transition: goods imported before September 29 but not yet cleared remain subject to the 50% tariff; enter them on the tariffed line.
Softwood lumber, rate updated (October 22, 2026): on October 14, 2026, the U.S. Department of Commerce released the final results of its seventh administrative review. The combined antidumping and countervailing rate drops from 35.16% to 24.75% (10.64% antidumping + 14.11% countervailing). With the 10% Section 232 tariff, the combined rate drops from 45.16% to 34.75%. The new deposit rate applies from publication in the Federal Register. Company-specific rates (Canfor, Resolute, West Fraser) differ: confirm with your customs broker. An eighth review (2025 shipments) is under way; recheck this rate with each new publication.
